The Basketball Athlete Camp is the first complete winter break youth basketball training program in the UAE. It combines advanced basketball training with comprehensive athletic performance development to create a well rounded basketball athlete. Within the program athletes not only learn to become better students of the game and improve their skills, but athletes will receive strength and conditioning training that will maximize the athletic potential of their bodies and teach them how to prevent injuries common to basketball athletes.
You do not need to strive to become a professional athlete to join this program, you just need to want to train like one.
1st WORKOUT STATION
Muscle Activation & Injury Prevention
Learn how to warm up like a professional athlete. Participants will create new pre-workout/pre-game habits which will help them minimize risk of injury, increase muscular contraction efficiency and optimize range of motion in order to maximize their performance.
2nd WORKOUT STATION
Strength & Conditioning
A comprehensive program that will develop physical strength, improve high & low velocity power, and explosiveness. Advanced training equipment will be used such as the VertiMax V8, SKLZ acceleration trainer, etc. Core objectives will be to enhance muscular strength and endurance, speed, agility, and quickness along with pillar strength for better movement efficiency.
3rd WORKOUT STATION
Advanced Offensive Fundamentals
Participants will learn advanced offensive fundamentals that will enable them to improve their offensive efficiency and game understanding with an emphasis on:
Creating space using ball fakes and footwork
Finishing in the key
Attacking off triple threat
Moving without the ball
4th WORKOUT STATION
Individual shooting mechanics will be analyzed and fine tuned. Key principals to becoming a great shooter will also be emphasized through drills focusing on:
Speeding up shot
Increasing shooting range
Reading the defender (with and without the ball)
5th WORKOUT STATION
Implement what you have learned instantly in games situations. Execute your new moves in real game speed and challenge other players.
6th WORKOUT STATION
Regeneration & Mobility
Get ready for tomorrow TODAY. Learn how to recover faster after a workout/game to prepare yourself to perform again at your peak the following day. This is critical for injury prevention and for continuing to execute on and off the court at a high level.
